#2 The Train Job

This is the first time I have watched Firefly and this TV series sort of reminds of Robin Hood or other kind of heroes. For me, The Train Job’s most impressive part is when Mal and Zoe gave back what they stole from the train. Despite the fact that the Mal sometimes accept challenges like stealing or illegal retail trading, he would never cross the line when things come real, like what they stole from the train are actually for emergency use.
What makes a person hero? There are heroes on the TV shows such as Spider man, Bat man and Iron man. They have super power and what’s more important is they are always ready to help others and the world out. I see some similar relationships between Captain Mal and these heroes. He not only has amazing power and courage but also his wisdom and a caring heart. When he realized how he could completely change many people’s lives, he returned them without any hesitation. Sometimes, people make comparisons to make a person more like a hero. In this episode, one of the crew members Jayne seems to have a different opinion from Mal when it comes survive and conscience. Jayne and other crew members would care more about the results if they did not complete the deal while Captain Mal and Zoe decided to give back those medicine to those who need more than them. The comparison really makes Mal more like a hero, especially when he was determined to change his mind about doing the train job regardless of other’s opinions and consequences.

  1. The most important part of being a hero is not having outstanding super powers, but having a warm heart and willing to help people. I think it's not hard to be a hero, however not everyone can do well on the "help others" part.
