Blog 1: Introduce yourself

My name is Mengtian and I am an international student from Shanghai, China. For some people who could not pronounce my name correctly, I always tell them to remember “maintain” since it sounds quite similar to my Chinese name.
I love Ohio because Ohio was the first state I went in America. I was an exchange student for one year in Columbus, Ohio and that was the first time I have been to the United States. It was a very precious experience and memory for me because I have learned a lot in many different ways. After that, I have decided to apply the college in Ohio and luckily I got accepted by Ohio State University.
I love watching shows and movies, especially funny ones. I could stay at home the whole weekend and just watch movies for hours. This is probably the best way for me to relax or relieve pressure. I also love desserts like ice-cream, chocolates and cakes. It is said that sweets could help people overcome stress. So I always feel content after I have some sweets, which probably are why I love sweets so much.
Being in America is a new start for me and I am learning every day since the university life is quite different from what I had back in China. However, I sometimes get some funny questions from people who don’t know China quite well like “do you have tress in China?”, “do people use computers in China?” or “Are you from China or Asia?” Anyway, it is nice to be in another country with different cultures.
